This was my take on the classic “white cube” primitive for art. I frequently made paper crafts (and drew) in class in junior high and often made these little inflatable cubes. I opted to replicate that with the usual material of choice: lined binder paper.
One of the reasons I like this layered approach for tones & colors is that it yields interesting colors – even for objects like these that don’t have any. There’s bits of the layers visible if you get up close. The natural lighting will also reveal a little color in the highlights and shadows.
