This is a second cat commission for Mel – the first was a portrait I’d painted years ago, Tobey’s Gaze. To keep to a similar look across both, this canvas is the same size. I offered Mel a few layout options (including an angled one similar to Tobey) and she opted for this direct look for TJ.

Like Tobey, TJ has a bunch of fluffy white fur and a piercing gaze. Here are the progress pics, and a final view of model and portrait together.
